Add or edit a page in the Visual Editor
Choose a page, update its editor panels, review the preview, and publish when ready.
The Visual Editor lets you work on a selected page while seeing the rendered page in the center canvas. Use the page selector in the top bar to choose the page you want to update, then use the left editor panels to adjust the page structure and content.
Choose the page and language
- Open Sites and enter the Visual Editor.
- Use the page selector in the top bar, such as home, to choose the page you want to edit.
- Use the language selector, such as EN, when you are reviewing localized page content.
- Check the LIVE badge and Saved state so you know whether you are viewing an existing live page or an edit that still needs review.
Use the editor panels
The left rail organizes page work into Layout, Sections, Media, Theme, Menu, and Files. Start with the panel that matches the change you want to make, then review the result in the page canvas before moving to another panel.
Adjust layout when the page structure changes
In Layout, choose the page template only when this page should differ from the site default. Base layout keeps the normal header, content area, and footer. Focused layout is for compact flows such as checkout, cart, login, or account pages. Bare layout is for content-only or embedded surfaces.
Use Component Areas to review whether the page inherits header and footer areas or needs page-specific treatment.
Update sections, media, theme, menu, or files
Open Sections when the visible page blocks need to change. Use Add Section to add a new block, use the drag handle to reorder blocks, and review each section card before publishing. Common section types include hero, featured-categories, featured-products, text-with-image, featured-services, feature-grid, testimonials, featured-brands, newsletter, and cta-banner.
- Use Sections to add, remove, reorder, or review page blocks such as hero, featured products, testimonials, newsletter, and CTA areas.
- Use Media when the page needs images or other uploaded assets.
- Use Theme when the change belongs to visual styling rather than one page section.
- Use Menu when the page should appear in site navigation or needs navigation changes.
- Use Files for site-level files that support the page experience.
Review theme-wide settings when the change is global
Use Theme for site-wide settings that affect more than one page. Theme settings can include logo usage, header and footer presentation, brand colors, typography, spacing, radii, shadows, animations, buttons, variant pills, inputs, product, category, service, and blog cards, content containers, media surfaces, fallback media, dropdowns, pop-ups, drawers, badges, and general website settings.
General settings can hold website identity, branding, search presentation, SEO defaults, analytics and tracking IDs, custom scripts, public contact details, address, map display values, business hours, social links, and regional display defaults. Language availability is managed from Website > Languages; theme settings only control how language options render in the site chrome.
Review responsive previews before publishing
Use the desktop, tablet, and mobile preview controls in the top bar before publishing. Check spacing, section order, buttons, images, cards, forms, header, footer, and navigation in each preview size. If you use Getme AI suggestions for content, color, or spacing ideas, review the output in the editor and make your own final edits before publishing.
