Connect an existing domain to your Getme site
Add your domain in Settings, configure DNS records, and verify the connection.
Use Domains when you already own a domain and want it to point to your Getme site. The connection starts in Getme, then continues at your domain registrar where DNS records are managed.
Open the domain connection flow
- Open Settings in your Getme workspace.
- Choose Domains from the settings menu.
- Click Connect existing domain.
- Enter the domain, such as example.com or shop.example.com.
- Choose Next to continue to the DNS instructions.
Add DNS records at your registrar
Log in to the domain registrar where the domain is managed. Add the DNS records shown by Getme, then keep both Getme and your registrar open while you compare values.
- Add a CNAME record pointing to sites-staging.getmeonline.io.
- Add a TXT record at getme-verification with the verification value shown in Getme.
Wait for DNS propagation
DNS changes can appear quickly for some registrars and more slowly for others. Plan for a propagation window of 5 minutes to 48 hours before the new records are visible everywhere.
Verify DNS in Getme
- Return to Settings > Domains.
- Find the domain in the domain list.
- Click Verify DNS to complete the connection when the records are ready.
- Review the domain status, such as Pending, Connected, Primary, or Active.
TLS certificates are automatically provisioned once DNS is verified. If the domain stays Pending after the expected propagation window, compare the registrar records with the values shown in Getme.
