Preview your website before publishing
Review drafts, live pages, responsive previews, and domain status before sending changes live.
Use the Website overview and Visual Editor together when you want to review a site before publishing. The overview helps you compare the current public site, draft state, domain, and last saved details. The editor helps you check page-level layout, content, and responsive behavior.
Start from the Website overview
- Open Website from the main navigation.
- Review the site name and connected domain shown near the top of the page.
- Use View store when you want to open the public storefront or site view.
- Use New Draft when you need a separate draft flow before changing the live site.
Read the preview card
The site preview card shows a browser-style preview and a smaller mobile preview. It can also show the current status, such as Published, the Last saved timestamp, the theme or library name, the connected domain, and quick actions such as View Live, Domains, and Customize.
- Use View Live to compare what visitors can currently see.
- Use Domains when the domain connection or status needs review.
- Use Customize to return to the Visual Editor for page, section, menu, media, theme, or layout changes.
- Use the overflow menu when additional site actions are available for that site card.
Check responsive layout in the editor
Inside the Visual Editor, use desktop, tablet, and mobile preview controls. Check the header, footer, navigation dropdowns, language switcher, section order, buttons, images, cards, forms, and long text wrapping in each size before publishing.
Check page and locale details
Use the page selector to confirm you are editing the intended page, such as home. Use the locale selector, such as EN, when reviewing localized copy, navigation labels, SEO defaults, and theme text that appears in the page chrome.
Review before choosing Publish
- Confirm the editor shows Saved before leaving the draft.
- Compare the preview with the live version if the site is already published.
- Check that important links point to the expected page, custom URL, cart, account, search, collection, or footer group.
- Check the connected domain if the preview looks correct but the public URL needs review.
